Bantual lingues

[edit source]

Es li vorde "bantual" akurat? Forsam "banti"?(Anglum "bantu") Vida Zulum. --Wayne 13:08, 11 februare 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Any idea what happened to Nov ialiste? You two are presumably the only sysops? There's a bit of tidying up to do e.g. the usual "w/index.php" page has appeared ... --Wayne 18:48, 30 aprile 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(Sysop) -yes, if you don't mind - the odd vandal does appear. Also, is there any reason you haven't marked the regular bots as bots? As to Nov ialiste - I really did appreciate him (presumption, I guess it could be her) correcting my articles. To be honest, it was a lazy way of learning the language but a way I enjoy (i.e. by using the language). I guess, I'll have to knuckle down and do some serious study. --Wayne 21:46, 8 maye 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Bureaucrat - OK - let me know when the election is held. Bot marking - I've just checked (I'm one on another wiki) - you need to be bureaucrat (sysop isn't good enough) to mark a user as a bot. --Wayne 11:36, 19 maye 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks --Wayne 20:57, 10 june 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Only human?

[edit source]

Hi BRG,
Are you the only human active at this wiki atm? Besides you i only see bots in the recent changes. Multichill 15:36, 4 june 2007 (UTC)[reply]

From my dutch talk page: Wayne and I are the two who are currently active, though it's been a few days since Wayne's last edits. -- BRG 64.26.98.90 5 jun 2007 17:04 (CEST)
I asked because i have to have community (so that's you and/or Wayne) approval before i can ask for a bot bit at meta. That will stop at least my bot from polluting the recent changes, i could of course ask to give the other bots bot status to. What's your opinion on this matter? You can respond here btw, i have this page in my watch list. Multichill 15:36, 5 june 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wayne certainly would want you to do that; he's been asking to have the bots marked. (see his earlier msg to me on this page!)I'd agree with him there. -- BRG 20:40, 5 june 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm around but admittedly haven't done much editing of late. How will they evaluate community approval? --Wayne 21:51, 5 june 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Dont know exactly. I will leave a message on meta and post the link here so you react. Multichill 08:32, 6 june 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've added a request on meta if you have anything to add, please do. Multichill 08:57, 6 june 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Messages

[edit source]

I've been doing some work on the system messages - feel free to correct. In particular please log off and on again - and check the Novial around the login page. Also see the talk page on MediaWiki:Userlogout‎. Thanks --Wayne 20:54, 31 julie 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Registra

[edit source]

OK. Perhaps we should take another tack - I'm not sure what though. I have trawled the NL but will give it another go - I would really like to separate register from login. Finally the logo is up - I'm going to have a beer - now the main pages should be completely in Novial! --Wayne 17:29, 17 auguste 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've created a new page with a table listing the terms from the other Wikipedias. We can discuss this there: Novi vordes/Login Nov ialiste 19:05, 20 novembre 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Country Template

[edit source]

I propose to change the template for countries. We should have also the information who is president and who prime minister for ecery country. Valodnieks 12:16, 16 novembre 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, except not every country has a prime minister (USA, for example) or a president (UK). In monarchies, probably the monarch should be given. -- BRG 21:12, 16 novembre 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thats true. Then there should be: head of state (could be monarch, president whatever) and chief of government. If in a country like USA there is no seperate Chief of Government we could leave the field blank or make a note "see president". Valodnieks 21:59, 16 novembre 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You're right, I think. Go ahead, as far as I'm concerned. -- BRG 19:55, 17 novembre 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Danko. But how can I change the template? Valodnieks 21:01, 17 novembre 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's at Template:Info_boxe_lande. Just edit it as you would any wikipedia page. If you don't understand how templates work, I'll help you, but you can probably figure it out. - BRG 16:46, 18 novembre 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Danko. I used the terms "chefe de state" e "chefe de guvernamente". I just changed a few countries. Is it ok? Valodnieks 17:43, 18 novembre 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I just checked that "guvernamente" was a legitimate word, which was my only question, and it is. So that is just fine. -- BRG 21:21, 28 novembre 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your admin status

[edit source]

Hello. I'm a steward. A new policy regarding the removal of "advanced rights" (administrator, bureaucrat, etc.) was adopted by community consensus recently. According to this policy, the stewards are reviewing administrators' activity on wikis with no inactivity policy.

You meet the inactivity criteria (no edits and no log actions for 2 years) on novwiki, where you are an administrator. Since that wiki does not have its own administrators' rights review process, the global one applies.

If you want to keep your rights, you should inform the community of the wiki about the fact that the stewards have sent you this information about your inactivity. If the community has a discussion about it and then wants you to keep your rights, please contact the stewards at m:Stewards' noticeboard, and link to the discussion of the local community, where they express their wish to continue to maintain the rights, and demonstrate a continued requirement to maintain these rights.

We stewards will evaluate the responses. If there is no response at all after approximately one month, we will proceed to remove your administrative rights. In cases of doubt, we will evaluate the responses and will refer a decision back to the local community for their comment and review. If you have any questions, please contact us on m:Stewards' noticeboard.

What should we do

[edit source]

It would be a shame to kill the project but then we haven't been very active. In fact I've gone backwards in the language - moved to Switzerland 4 years ago and was concentrating on German. --Wayne (talk) 22:53, 11 februare 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have a good idea. I have little enough time to work on the other Wikis I'm involved with, and it really looks as though nobody is doing much on this Wiki. Like you, I don't want to see it die, but I can't tell who might want to do what is necessary to make it active again. -- BRG (talk) 00:44, 12 februare 2015 (UTC)[reply]
We should perhaps try and reactivate the members that have edited in the past - any news of Novialiste? --Wayne (talk) 21:41, 14 februare 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The wiki wouldn't die (although in terms of activity it already has), you would just lose your admin rights. However, read this paragraph (which is copy/pasted from above):

If you want to keep your rights, you should inform the community of the wiki about the fact that the stewards have sent you this information about your inactivity. If the community has a discussion about it and then wants you to keep your rights, please contact the stewards at m:Stewards' noticeboard, and link to the discussion of the local community, where they express their wish to continue to maintain the rights.

You've already contacted the stewards, so I don't think you will lose your rights. PiRSquared17 (talk) 22:26, 14 februare 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Correct, though I suppose it doesn't solve the issues of a lack of editing activity. --Rschen7754 01:56, 11 marte 2015 (UTC)[reply]
